INTRODUCTION

One of the world’s leading international law firms with formidable global presence and unmatched multi-jurisdictional capabilities is seeking an In-House Associate Counsel to join their European legal team.
ResponsibilitiesThe Associate Counsel will support the work of the Europe General Counsel team in advising the firm’s management on a wide range of legal issues.
The Associate Counsel will regularly advise on the implementation of the firm’s growth projects and banking and finance transactions. It is expected that the Associate Counsel will have a growth mind set as well as a solid background in commercial contract and banking and finance law.
The Associate Counsel will also be responsible for the drafting and review of:
(i) material agreements (commercial agreements between the firm and third parties, intra-group agreements as well as agreements between the firm and its partners);
(ii) internal firm policies and guidelines; and
(iii) corporate documents of the firm (a UK LLP) and its associated entities throughout Europe.
From time to time, the Associate Counsel will assist with the filing of firm documents and correspondence. Given this is a regional role, the Associate Counsel may occasionally be required to coordinate the work of local counsel on specific projects.
RequirementsRequirements:
• Law degree, preferably with UK qualification
• At least 5 – 6 years of having practiced as a lawyer in a fee earning role at in international law firm or in house
• Experience advising on banking and finance essential, along with general commercial matters
• Proficiency with Loan Market Association (LMA) documentation
• True fluency (written and spoken) in English; actually living/working in an English-speaking country advantageous
• Excellent drafting and communication skills
• Growth mind set

• Reliable and well-organized
• Great attention to detail
• Self-starter, autonomous, proactive and a team player
